Sustainable Printemps
The Sustainable Printemps was created 8 years ago to gather under one label all the actions that the festival and its partners implement. Since 2008, Le Printemps de Bourges Crédit Mutuel adds up to: 36 days of concerts, 3000 bands and artists, Hundreds of thousands of festival-goers, 450 tons of waste collected on the site of the festival and in the city centre, 60 persons in Sustainable Printemps teams, 70% of waste recovered.
The Sustainable Printemps encourages public transportation and car-pooling, improves the reception for persons with reduced mobility, implements approaches to risk prevention for the festival-goers, and displays an educational stand related to waste…
Thanks to all Sustainable Printemps's partners, last years' initiatives will be retained and developed:
Public Transportation
Reduced fares and free shuttles to favour public transportation:
- Low fare return tickets between Bourges and Centre and Pays de la Loire regions' train stations
- Additional night trains (towards Tours and Orléans)
- Free bus fares within the department with Lignes 18, Cher Department transportation network
- Free evening shuttle bus (Agglobus) to get to the train station
- Carpooling interface with Blablacar
- Low fare return tickets between Paris and Bourges the week-end with Intercité
And on the festival site:
- Supervised bicycle parking
Prevention / Information / Solidarity
- Risk prevention actions for festival goers (two stands on Séraucourt square: prevention space and road safety stand). Delivery free earplugs, condoms, breathalyzers...
- Free earplugs for the audience in the main venues and the receptions (with the Centre region)
- Sound limiter in every principal concert venue
- Educational stand related to the life of waste on Séraucourt square
- Information stand related to environmental department Bourges Plus – communauté d'agglomération
- Recovery of plastic stopper for Encouragement du dévouement de Mehun / Yèvre association. Near 30kg stopper were collected in 2012.
- Improved access for people with reduced mobility with the help of two organisations: APF (Association des Paralysés de France) and MDPH (Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées)
Communication
- Ongoing reduction of the number of printed documents and increase in the use of electronic documents
- Working with printing companies from the region, who display the “Imprim'vert” logo, who don't use toxic products, and who comply with sustainable forest management
